Mostly, a journey to self-discovery that made me understand what they mean when they say, “Give the ones you love, wings to fly, roots to come back and reasons to stay.”
I, Veidehi Gite, founded Krazy Butterfly, in September 2016, after I returned from a solo trip I took to Scandinavia. Since then, I have been recording my travel and lifestyle experiences through Krazy Butterfly, a mindful journal for curious travellers alike. Five years into chasing my passion for travelling, I am now an author of a book, a photographer and a multi-award winning travel and lifestyle influencer. Before 2016, I was a corporate professional; and the last post I held was that of Head PR and Communications at Kinetic, the outdoor advertising division of WPP.
In less than half a decade, Krazy Butterfly has captured travel experiences from over 30 countries, and en route, I have been featured, by many notable publications such as Outlook, Travel & Leisure India, DNA India, Mid Day, Outlook Money, Times of India, New Indian Express, SheThePeople.TV, and BTV to name a few.
In the last five years, I have won many national awards like the Top Solo Woman Travel Influencer, Top Lifestyle Influencer, and Top Food Influencer by Holdify, Top Luxury Travel Blog by the USA based Empty Lighthouse Magazine and was nominated for the Indian Bloggers Award and Digital Awards by Google and CNBC. It has been a Krazy journey since 2016!
Mostly, a journey to self-discovery that made me understand what they mean when they say, “Give the ones you love, wings to fly, roots to come back and reasons to stay.” Having said that, choosing to travel alone has always been a valiant choice, given my gender, and to some extent, my nationality. But that did not stop me from following my passion and discovering new places and new cultures. Fast forward five years, I am glad I chose to follow in the footsteps of the heroic women who solo travel while setting serious travel goals for the travelling community.

I enjoy upheld travel, where I get to stay at self-indulgent accommodations, embrace local culture and get to interact with the locals, learning about their way of life and aspirations. Talking to locals helps me acquire expanded knowledge about the surroundings and figure out the best places to try the local cuisine. To back the regional economy and be vocal for local, I purchase handicrafts, local spices, eat local food and say no to unethical reporting. My journey has taught me that I am capable of re-evaluating every stereotype.
