Chocolate Wrap: Let’s Get High On Endorphins

I am a chocoholic who craves and compulsively consumes chocolate at any given opportunity. And as much as I enjoy cocoa butter melt inside my mouth, I also love to see it melt on my body. Chocoholism inspires me, even if that means getting wrapped in chocolate. Call me a chocolate addict but, the euphoric sensation that hits my brain after consuming chocolate is irreplaceable, for this reason, I leave no opportunity unturned to immerse in fine chocolate. The love for cacao seeds may have taken me to many chocolate bars and spas around the world, however, one of my favourite chocolate venues remains to be in my hometown, Indore.

It’s at Sky Spa Salon, in Radisson Blu Indore, where I was 1st-introduced to the notion of an exotic chocolate wrap spa treatment. Every time I walk through the dim-lit passageway of the rooftop Sky Spa, it ignites a sweet nostalgia and thinking about getting slathered in chocolate positively kicks off Dopamine. This time it was all the ‘more special’ as I was visiting Sky Spa on the invite of Radisson Blu Indore, who wanted me to review a few of their spa services.

Julie Singh, the Guest Relations Manager at Radisson Blu, organised the Mineral Nourisher Wrap and the Milk Chocolate Cocoon for me to try. Both relaxing treatments were remitted inside a single-bedded Thai therapy suite having a private jacuzzi, shower and steam. While the mineral nourisher wrap is great to get rid of dead surfaces and repair skin, the Milk Chocolate Cocoon is meant to hydrate skin and regenerate cells.

Sky Spa’s signature therapies take their inspiration after the therapeutic properties of its ingredients. Concentrating on overall well-being, the wellness journey at Sky Spa begins with a body scrub to prepare the skin for the upcoming massage. Following, the therapist devotes 60-minutes to heal your circulatory and nervous system by applying a bracing mud wrap that relaxes and rejuvenates the core.

Mineral Nourisher Wrap (60-minutes)

Mineral Nourisher is a 60-minute natural mud wrap therapy that makes your skin glow with vigour. For this therapy, the masseur first gently massages the organic mud on your body. The rich mud minerals spurn out toxins, activating cellular metabolism and boosting blood circulation.

Chocolate Milk Cocoon (60-minutes)

Milk Chocolate Cocoon is a whole different kind of chocolate spa indulgence! My body was 1st-exfoliated with ground cocoa nibs, then slathered in a creamy, cocoa-based mixture. I was then covered in plastic, banana leaves and blankets to raise body temperature and lower stress levels. This chocolate immersion wrap is made with a non-edible mud and white chocolate essence. Opt for this treatment only if you want to get painted with SkySpa’s signature melted chocolate. Having pure chocolate slathered all over your body has the same effect as eating chocolate, as cocoa gets absorbed into body pores, making you feel heavenly.

Milk Chocolate Cocoon makes the most of antioxidants and muscle-relaxing magnesium derived from cocoa. After a relaxing shower, I received a gentle rubdown with cocoa butter to hydrate my skin even further. I lay down on my back as the masseuse massaged my whole body with SkySpa’s signature chocolate lotion, leaving my skin as silky as a bar of chocolate. The healing touch of the therapists eliminated traces of fatigue and stress while the cocoa-filled experience completely relaxed my mind, body and soul.

The Cocoon, with special exfoliation, aromatherapy massage and chocolate milk wrap, is truly an exotic experience. Of course, don’t miss out on the other treatments, also offered here, like mineral wraps, scrubs and hydrotherapy, all steeped in dark rich chocolate. After steeping yourself in a chocolate treatment, wrap yourself in a plush robe and head to the tranquil poolside to enhance the delicious spa experience with a glass of fresh juice.
