Indian Railways Expected to Commence 100 more Trains

As the latest Unlock 4.0 guidelines are imposed, notable relaxations have been proposed by the Indian Railways. The railways are expected to declare the operations of nearly 100 more passenger trains that will facilitate both inter and intra-state travels. Since these trains are characterised, as ‘special trains,’ hence the Railway Ministry is soliciting approval from the Home Ministry for their commencement. After arranging a positive sign from the Home Ministry, Indian Railways will roll out nearby 100 trains, succeeded by 20 more to expedite travel on specific operational routes. The news is a part of the latest Unlock 4.0 regime, which begins today.

The newest reports suggest, that the government is trying to ease many constraints across India to secure the economy amidst the coronavirus pandemic. One such development is led by the Indian Railways that recently proclaimed that all routine passenger trains will continue to remain halted unto further notice. Students appearing for Jee and Neet exams are permitted to travel by local trains with companions with valid tickets. Rail travel tickets will be issued on showing admit cards.

Initially, 30 Rajdhani-type trains were started after the lockdown was relaxed. Post 01st June, the Indian Railways added 200 more trains to this list. Thus currently, 230 operational special trains are running, expanding to the scope of the new ones. Other than this, metro rail services are also said to reopen from 07th September 2020.
