Trick To Get Your Singapore Visa in 48 Hours

I was feeling a wave of anxiety when visiting a foreign country for the first time, and the visa process is always a major cause of worry. Every country has its own requirements so I was prepared for some fuss. I was pleasantly surprised when I realized that the Singapore Visa can be obtained in just 48-hours! I was absolutely elated at this news, as this would be my first experience with the country. I was taking a cruise with Dream Cruise, and when I received the necessary documents for my stay and flight, I applied for the e-visa at VFS.

The only issue was that I had too little time to get the visa, as the standard turnaround time for a Singapore Visa is five days. Nonetheless, with some luck and a little bit of magic, I managed to pull it off! Ready to get your visa application rolling? Here’s what you need to do to get started: First, find and download the e-visa form online – then, print it out and set it aside for later. Next, you’ll need a few passport-sized photos (45.0 x 35.0 mm in Matt-Finish) with your ears, neck and shoulders fully visible in the shot. You’ll only need two or three of these, but while you’re waiting on them from the studio, get the most recent 6-months account statement from your bank.

Singapore Visa Form

Once you’ve got your passport-photos and visa-form, attach them to a solid cover letter – if you’re applying through a travel agency, their staff will help you craft it, but if you’re like me and prefer to write your own, make sure to give an accurate description of the purpose of your visit, and mention your credit card subtly. My friend once told me about a ‘magical’ trick that was said to work wonders – and it did! I always use my credit card for any international purchases I make, but little did I know that simply mentioning it could make things a lot easier for me.

Even though it’s still up for debate whether or not the Singaporean embassy favours tourists who assure them of using their credit card during the trip, I figured that it wouldn’t hurt to mention it – especially when I was anyway planning to use my card! So I submitted my passport, visa form, cover letter, bank statement, flight ticket PNR and accommodation details, along with two passport-sized photos to VFS Mumbai and, lo and behold, on the morning of the third day I had a multiple-entry e-visa for 30 days all ready for me!

Are you interested in visiting Singapore? I’ve heard that the Singaporean embassy is quite generous with their visas! On your first application, they will usually grant you a multiple-entry-visa that is valid for a whole month. Afterwards, you may even be granted a multiple-entry-visa that is valid for up to 12 months – depending on the purpose of your visit, whether it’s for personal or professional reasons. I’d love to hear if you’ve benefited from this trade secret. Feel free to share any insights you may have with people who are looking to get their Singapore Visa for the first time!

Spread the love
