Hotel Scandic Sydhavnen for Artistic Luxury

A luxurious buildout dubbed Scandic Sydhavnen is perched, on the banks of Frederiksholmslobet, near the Aalborg University of Copenhagen. This magnificent hotel is located in Sydhavns, a harbour district in Copenhagen brimming with cafés, museums, restaurants, art galleries, and bars. This upmarket Copenhagen neighbourhood is built around the harbour and features canals and residences modelled after those seen in Amsterdam.

Scandic Sydhavnen

There was no better way to immerse in the Zenhouse culture than to stay at Scandic Sydhavnen. Scandic Sydhavnen appears to be a giant sequence of rooms spanning over both sides of a glass built Cullinan. As soon as you step inside, the titillating interiors will draw you to a citrusy white flooring that unites contemporary Danish with traditional architecture.

The check-in procedure is usually prompt but, even if you had to wait, I think you’d enjoy the lobby’s decor which includes a professional piano. I was staying at this hotel because I wanted to spend a day at Tivoli Gardens, which is only a short drive from the hotel. It takes 6-7 minutes if you are driving to Tivoli and 35-minutes if you choose to walk to it.

I also had to spend a day here, to get to understand the Danish culture closely and to enjoy the hotel’s enormous setup including its garden and golf grounds. There’s much to do at Scandic Sydhavnen, from gastronomic pleasures to rooftop terrace relaxing, gymming, sauna, and jacuzzi.

For a total of €250, my accommodation had complimentary Wi-Fi, a comfortable bed, an additional seating area, and an en-suite bathroom with amenities such as a hairdryer and towels. Each room at Scandic Sydhavnen has a flat-screen TV, an ironing board and a personal desk. The hardwood floors and other hallmark elements inside the room, however, add to its uniqueness. Did I mention the complimentary breakfast, which includes a broad range of organic options?

For conferences and social events, there’s an on-campus banquet and they also have a mini-golf and a child care centre. If you’re a fan of Danish cuisine, you must sample Sydhavnen’s Aberdeen Angus Steak. A medium-rare is a good choice. In the evening, visit the stylish lounge bar with a library to unwind. Look into the 24-hour lobby shop if you believe you’ll need some last-minute travel necessities, like snacks, beverages, or toiletries.

The Scandic Sydhavnen is also only a 5-minute walk from Copenhagen Central Station. If you prefer to walk, the city centre is only 30 minutes away, and the Nyhavn and Kobenhavns Radhus are only a short distance away.
